Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

The most widely used therapeutic methodology worldwide for lasting psychological change

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the most widely used therapeutic methodology in the world. It involves exploring the relationships between a person's thoughts, their emotions and their displayed behaviour. CBT is most likely the form of therapy you are most familiar with, this being a free flowing conversation between the therapist and client.

How CBT Works

During our sessions we will work together to uncover and discuss any unhealthy patterns of thought you may have. By identifying the core problems that a client has steps can be taken to modify the mindset to overcome negative life events as well as the your personal perceptions of said events. As a result negative behaviour can be understood and modified according to the will of the client.

With some time a near complete management of one's behaviour, emotions and thoughts can be achieved.

Conditions Treated with CBT

CBT is used to manage a host of psychological conditions ranging from:

  • Addiction (all forms)
  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Depression
  • Eating Disorders
  • Histrionic Disorder

My CBT Approach

CBT is my primary therapeutic approach as it can be applied to just about every psychological issue. Given this the basic structure of our initial sessions will involve you outlining some of the issues you wish to address and then a following conversation on how we will manage them. Usually the therapy will involves a combination of both CBT and other methodologies I am accredited in.

Everything we discuss in these sessions are completely confidential and no recording of the session is made for the clients security. All records are written by hand and not stored on any computer to prevent any kind of data breach.
